Full Moon in Leo: Entertainment as a way to smother our anger and to forget about financial difficulties!

Today on January 27 at 4:38 am, GMT, there is a Full Moon on the 7th degree of Leo, the zodiac sign ruled by the Sun and thus directly related to creativity, passion, drama and uniqueness. The Full Moon illuminates our need to channel our energies in creative and recreational activities so as to promote our uniqueness and express our feelings in a rather dramatic and clearly passionate way. However, with the Sun in the opposite sign, that is, the intellectual, innovative and collective sign of Aquarius, we must find the right balance between the needs above and the importance we attach to the following: logic, friendship, social solidarity, participation in collective activities and exchange of innovative ideas that may though lack in practicality. So, this Full Moon favors social and collective activities where each of us is given the opportunity to express their individuality and creativity.

Examples of activities that this Full Moon would encourage us to do are the following: wild parties or other leisure activities where we would not normally participate; passionate conversations with friends regarding scientific, political, social or ideological issues; theatrical or artistic events that promote diversity and the ideal of social solidarity; practical assistance as a token of social contribution and volunteerism. Furthermore, the minor grand trines that this Full Moon forms with Uranus and Jupiter favor processes associated with scientific discoveries for the collective good (Sun-Uranus-Jupiter) and with revolutionary theories on the emotional world and the origin of man (Uranus-Jupiter-Moon). Anyhow, these minor grand trines provide many opportunities for innovative expression of one’s emotional generosity (Uranus-Jupiter-Moon) and for significant benefits if one decides to break free (Sun-Uranus-Jupiter). These opportunities are particularly relevant for those born in the first decanate of the air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and the fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius). These are also relevant for those with planets or Ascendant / Midheaven near the 5th, 6th and 7th degree of these same signs.

However, the square that this Full Moon receives from Saturn in Scorpio brings along a series of obstacles and difficulties, especially for those born in the first decanate of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius). More specifically, the first decanate of Taurus and Scorpio seems to be trying to find the right balance between professional and family obligations, which in its turn causes problems in their relationship with a romantic or business partner. On the other hand, the first decanate of Leo and Aquarius seem to realize that problems and difficulties at home or at work significantly limit their ability to find the right balance between their personal needs and those of a romantic or business partner. In any case, the negative activation of Saturn by this Full Moon entails that the representatives of the fixed cross signs will have to make significant cuts in their lives and perhaps shoulder an unusually large amount of responsibilities.

Besides the above, it is important to note that Venus and Mars don’t receive any basic aspects at this Full Moon. In other words, they can’t be integrated with the other planetary energies and are thus unable to express themselves. So, unaspected Mars in Aquarius means that we will need to repress any anger we may feel about the overall political and social situation that may lead however to explosive situations when or where we least expect it. One such literal example was the bomb attack at The Mall shopping centre in Athens just a week before the Full Moon. More specifically, those born in the last decanate of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius may find it necessary to smother their anger for some loss, be it financial or emotional (Mars in Aquarius in mutual reception with Saturn in Scorpio and without aspects apart from a wide conjunction with Neptune). With unaspected Venus in Capricorn financial planning may be blocked while we will probably need to repress both our financial ambitions as well as our need to have a serious romantic relationship or to make an existing one official. Until my next post, I send to you all plenty of love and light!
