On February 10th at 7:20 am, GMT,
there is a New Moon on the 21st degree of Aquarius. Although each
New Moon favours new beginnings in specific areas of our lives, this New Moon
seems to function quite differently. And how could it be any different given
that the zodiac sign of Aquarius is the sign of diversity and originality? One
clue indicating originality is that this New Moon does not receive any basic
aspects from any planet. Therefore, we may suggest that the new beginning that
we want to make at this New Moon will have to wait. Instead of seeing external
events happen, we will rather focus on growing internally and working on the ideas
that we want to put into practice in the near future. The second clue
indicating originality is related to the fact that Mercury in Pisces has
already entered its shadow phase. This means that Mercury is about to begin its
retrograde period (which will start on February 23rd) and is thus in
the same position where it will be when it turns back into direct motion on
March 17th. So, instead of a new beginning, this New Moon seems to
promise us the opportunity to settle outstanding issues from the past;
nevertheless, we won’t be able to fully settle these issues until after March
17th.
The New Moon in Aquarius is disposed by both Saturn and Uranus.
Examination of the aspects that these two planets make will help us to better understand
why this New Moon will bring internal development rather than external events.
On the one hand, the Uranus-Pluto square reminds us that there have occurred radical
changes which we still need to digest. Only then can we find inner strength to
cope with the new radical changes promised by the Uranus-Pluto square in the
near future ... On the other hand, Saturn in square aspect to Venus speaks of
financial constraints and difficulties which in turn affect socializing
negatively. Fortunately, Venus receives a trine from generous Jupiter, which
brings a touch of optimism in financial matters and social interactions. The financial
constraints and distancing from one’s social circle affects particularly the
signs of the fixed cross (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) and those who have
planets near the 10th degree of these same signs.
One last thing: the New Moon will take place with Jupiter in square
aspect to both Mercury and Mars. This poses the risk of accidents and
fights because we
can be too risky and reckless when it
comes to words and actions. Fortunately, the simultaneous trine from Saturn to Mercury
and Mars will easily
make us refrain from saying or doing those exact things that we might regret
otherwise.
