New Moon in Virgo: Creating order out of chaos!

On 25 August 2014 at 2:12pm, GMT, there is a New Moon taking place in the realistic, methodical and inventive sign of Virgo. Just like with every New Moon, this one too marks a new beginning in some area of our lives. The current new beginning is associated with our ability to analyze and classify information so that we can create order out of life’s chaos. It is also associated with our ability to be useful and helpful and to distinguish the "wheat from the chaff" so that we can enjoy the optimal operation and use of our available resources. Given that the most fundamental resource available to us is our own body, the New Moon in Virgo invites us to take care of it by paying attention to our health and by introducing perhaps some exercise and some healthy eating habits in our everyday life

A certain preoccupation with detail and a subsequent perfectionism may be observed but those potential characteristics will be intended to correct the wrongs in our lives: starting from the dripping tap and the squeaky hinge and going as far as optimizing our daily lives and our working conditions. Thus, we could say that this New Moon calls for us to ground ourselves once more after the summer holidays in order to sort out our house and work systematically, methodically and with due attention to detail so that we can see tangible and practical results. Mercury, this New Moon’s dispositor, is also in the sign of Virgo, so our minds and attention span will easily keep up with the requirements of the New Moon

Note however that the single basic aspect the New Moon forms is an opposition with Neptune. Therefore, many of us may find ourselves in a dilemma between the need for order, program and optimization of our resources, in line with the New Moon’s needs, and our need for fantasy, reverie and escape from everyday life, in line with Neptune’s needs. Anyone identified with the New Moon’s needs will regret not managing to break away and escape, while those who identify with Neptune’s needs will regret not settling their mundane tasks and obligations. A similar dilemma is repeated by the opposition of Mercury in Virgo with Chiron in Pisces, which means that our focus on the practical details of everyday life may make us feel bad for not having escaped from it all and, vice versaescaping from everyday life may make us feel bad for not having given sufficient attention to it. Mercury in Virgo opposing Chiron may also intensify Virgo’s interest in the body and health by potentially causing a disease, illness, infirmity or cold.

On the positive side, Mercury forms sextiles with the Mars-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio. These sextiles create opportunities to communicate in a detailed manner (Mercury in Virgo) our resolute commitment to business initiatives (Mars-Saturn conjunct in Scorpio), or even to focus methodically (Mercury in Virgo) on
drawing deep limits (Saturn in Scorpio) to our actions (Mars). Although Mars-Saturn is often experienced as frustration due to blocked energy, you might also want to consider that this combination dons our actions and initiatives (Mars) with persistence, program and discipline (Saturn). On the negative side, however, Venus in Leo forms squares with the above Mars-Saturn conjunction. These squares bring a lot of tension because our business initiatives or other disciplined activities (Saturn-Mars) may conflict with the value we may be attaching during this time to sensationalism, luxury and need for entertainment (Venus in Leo). Fights (Mars) over financial constraints (Venus-Saturn) are also high on the agenda. In any case, Venus trine Uranus will excite us somehow or provide us with a sudden leeway away from these tensions. In any case, I hope you enjoy the New Moon!
