On August 7th 2017 at 6:10pm, GMT,
there is a lunar eclipse across the Leo-Aquarius axis with the Sun in his own
sign, Leo, and the Moon in Aquarius. A lunar eclipse is simultaneously a Full
Moon, so the need for balance between two opposing forces still stands with the
only difference being that the Moon’s light has been ‘switched off’. This
feature makes for the fact that an eclipse cannot go unnoticed, hence the
heightened importance of the balance we need to strike as well as of any
chapter that may be closing or opening at the same time. Additionally, an
eclipse is often experienced as a loss or shortage in that area of one’s
horoscope where it happens to take place. Due to the lunar nature of the eclipse,
both the loss/shortage and the opening/closing chapter are related to lunar
issues such as personal and emotional life, daily life and routines as well as
one’s relationship with home, mother, spouse/partner and family.
Given that the Moon is in Aquarius, the lack
that one may experience these days or the chapter that they may be opening/closing
has to do with the need for friendship, networking and community engagement. Of
course, with the Sun in Leo, the center of our attention revolves around the
need for entertainment, play and fun. Nevertheless, one realizes that the
balance between the needs of these two signs is not that difficult to achieve.
After all, friendship (Aquarius) and fun (Leo) often go together. Besides,
Jupiter in Libra facilitates the Sun-Moon opposition and, thus, makes things
even easier by providing personal moments of harmony, relaxation and warmth
with friends and companions that we may have missed. For those who are not
lucky enough to get time off these days, the minor grand trine between Sun and
Saturn with Jupiter atop brings opportunities for work activities that allow
for a certain degree of enjoyment and freedom.
However, Mars’ involvement by conjunction with
the Sun and opposition to the Moon seems to makes things somewhat edgier. The
fact that these aspects are separating, though, implies that any conflicts or
controversies belong with the past, possibly around July 24th when
Mercury was entering his shadow phase in preparation of his upcoming retrogradation.
Given that Mercury will return to the same position on August 18th 2017,
while retrograde, and on September 18th 2017 while direct, the
loss/shortage one may experience, the chapter that may now be opening or
closing, and the conflicts that may have occurred create pending issues that
resurface around August 18th 2017 and get resolved by September 18th
2017. In fact, Mercury’s current opposition to Neptune, which is being
facilitated by Venus, promotes forgiveness and reconciliation.
Finally, it is important to mention that the
Moon’s dispositors, Saturn and Uranus, mark the eclipse with their retrograde
motion. The former turns direct in less than three weeks and returns on
September 11th 2017 to the same position it occupies now, which
results in pending professional issues or other outstanding obligations being
settled by then. The latter turned retrograde only a few days ago, which implies
that progressive or subversive actions that were thwarted shortly before the
eclipse will move forward in the beginning of January 2018 when Uranus turns
direct. In any case, make sure you enjoy the August Full Moon!
