On January 2nd 2018 at 2:24am, GMT,
there is a Full Moon taking place across the Cancer-Capricorn axis, with the
Moon being in the emotional, protective and affectionate sign of Cancer and the
Sun being in the practical, organizing and methodical sign of Capricorn. Just
like it happens with every Full Moon, this one too calls for us to strike the
right balance between opposites. Presently, one needs to make a balancing act
between family (Cancer) and career (Capricorn), emotion (Cancer) and common
sense (Capricorn), as well as between tenderness (Cancer) and severity
(Capricorn). With four planets in Capricorn, Saturn included, it is quite clear
that the balance tilts towards career, severity and common sense.
However, the shared language both of these
signs speak is the one of security, materially (Capricorn) and emotionally
(Cancer) speaking. Therefore, this Full Moon sharply illuminates security
issues and invites us to find solutions in order to deal with our insecurities.
In fact, the Full Moon axis participates in a watery kite formation, completed
by Mars/Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, as well as by Venus, Sun and
Pluto in Capricorn atop. The combination of these elements implies plenty of
emotional support that is expressed in a practical manner. On the other hand,
the participation of these planets in the kite formation allows for more
security (Moon in Cancer) through decisive developmental initiatives
(Mars/Jupiter in Scorpio) that concern one’s dreams, visions and ideals
(Neptune) so as to reach as high as one can (Capricorn at the peak of the
kite)
Of course, the peak
requires a radical shift in the importance one attaches to relationships,
values and money (Venus-Sun-Pluto). Nevertheless, if one is willing to
appreciate originality and eccentricity, then they have already taken a step
towards the top, in line with out-of-bounds Venus. Besides, the fact that the
Full Moon takes place with Uranus turning direct gives a highly original but
also explosive streak to this Full Moon. In a trine with Mercury who is still
in the shadow of its previous retrogradation, Uranus signals an urgent need to
apply original, revolutionary and perhaps extreme ideas that have been put on
hold since the beginning of August 2017 when Uranus was turning retrograde.
Finally, with four planets in the signs they rule (Moon, Mars, Saturn and
Neptune), it looks like the Full Moon removes us from our material and
emotional comfort zone so that things may at long last “fall into place”. In
any case, we wish you enjoy the Full Moon!
