On May 11, 2021, at 7.00 pm, GMT, there is a New Moon taking place in the earthy, practical and fixed sign of Taurus. Like any New Moon, this one too gives the opportunity for a new beginning in that area of one's horoscope where it happens to fall. Due to the sign’s nature, more favoured are those beginnings that have material, practical or economic character and aim at stability, security and putting downs roots. With the New Moon at Jupiter’s critical degree and in sextile with Neptune, any new beginning gives hope and a way out of problems as it promises more freedom, development and luck. The applying trine of the Lights with Pluto, in fact, allows at the same time one’s rebirth from their ashes and the acquisition of more power.
It is interesting, of course, to point out that this New Moon marks the beginning of this summer's eclipse season as the current lunar cycle peaks on May 26 with the Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse across the Gemini-Sagittarius axis so that a new cycle can start with the New Moon / Solar Eclipse of June 10. Any current new beginning, then, seems to lay the foundation for the opening or closing of a significant chapter on a private, family, household or even national level or in relation to important women in our lives, such as one’s mother or partner / wife.
The simultaneous presence of Venus, the New Moon’s dispositor, in Gemini at a critical degree ruled by herself, emphasizes how crucial and important this period is, especially in terms of values (material and spiritual), relationships and collaborations. Therefore, the present New Moon introduces new values that allow the obvious division of people into two ‘camps’. On the one hand, there are those who ‘roll up their sleeves’ and gain social acceptance, while, on the other, there are those who do not roll up their sleeves and meet marginalization (Mercury in trine with Saturn and sextile with Chiron, Mars in sextile with Uranus and square with Chiron). Which ‘camp’ will you choose?
