On May 5, 2023, at 5:34pm, GMT, there is a Full Moon, which is also a lunar eclipse, taking place across the Taurus-Scorpio axis. It is the second eclipse of the year, it follows the solar eclipse of April 20 and it comes to heighten emotions in reaction to events brought about by the recent solar eclipse that marked the opening or closing of some important chapter. In fact, with Mercury retrograde, it seems that this chapter should have closed or opened a long time ago. Although eclipses are considered a bad omen, it is important to realize that they help us close and open important chapters in our lives to make up for any lack that we may be experiencing in that sector of our horoscope where the eclipse happens to fall.
Lunar eclipses, in particular, highlight shortages that concern our emotional security, our habits and routines, our domestic and family life, as well as our relationships with important female figures, such as the mother or wife. Presently, with the lunar eclipse taking place across the Taurus-Scorpio axis, it seems that the above shortages touch on issues of survival and material and emotional security. So, if the solar eclipse forced many to return to the zone of some old trauma to face inner fears and demons, then the lunar eclipse comes to bring relevant realizations in order to free oneself from automatic thoughts and behaviors that keep one stuck in the zone of trauma and which deprive them of their material or emotional security.
Now, with Uranus participating in the eclipse axis, the above process becomes easier, given that the lights fall on the need for revolution, upheaval and release from patterns of the past. Indeed, with Mars having just returned within the bounds of the ecliptic, after an unusually long out-of-bounds orbit (since last October), one is beginning to feel that they can act within more predictable circumstances, which can foster a sense of belonging. The Venus-Jupiter sextile will be particularly helpful in this respect because it allows for generous and open-minded contacts and connections. Therefore, what automatic thoughts and behaviors will you choose to get rid of and where will you prefer to belong?
