New Moon in Aquarius: Breath of Fresh Air!

On January 21, 2023, at 8:53pm, GMT, there is a New Moon taking place in the pioneering, eccentric and revolutionary sign of Aquarius. It is not only the first new moon of the year but also the first, after many months, that takes place with almost all the planets in direct motion given that Mars has already gone direct since January 12th and Mercury since January 18th. Only Uranus, the modern dispositor of the New Moon, remains, officially, retrograde – but it is also about to turn direct within the next couple of days. Once that happens, all the planets will be moving direct for three whole months, a period during which one can ‘sail’ away and travel unhindered to new destinations.

Therefore, it becomes clear that the New Moon in Aquarius comes as a much-desired and needed breath of fresh air into our lives, promising to gradually close issues that have been pending for months. In doing so, the New Moon will make a splash on ‘stagnant’ waters and surprise even ourselves as the need for freedom from the burdens of the past becomes all the more urgent. Thus, it seems that we are leaving behind whatever pain or trials the previous months may have brought (Lights in separating conjunction with Pluto) in order to move full speed ahead in new directions, opportunities and goals (Lights in applying sextile with Jupiter and trine with Mars). Furthermore, there will be increased interest in committing oneself to the longevity of one’s relationships or partnerships (Lights = Mercury/Venus = Mercury/Saturn).

After all, with Mars and Mercury now direct and in quincunx aspect with each other, it will be necessary to make compromises if one does not want to remain stagnant and if one does not want to lose one's goal. In fact, sticking to the goal can bring unexpected results and help us free ourselves from previous wounds or traumas (Mercury conjunct fixed Facies and trine Uranus, Mercury = Jupiter/Chiron). So, where will you aim and what pending issues do you intend to take care of at once?
