On March 21, 2023, at 5:23pm, GMT, there is a New Moon taking place in the fiery, enthusiastic and combative sign of Aries. Like every New Moon, this one too calls for us to make a fresh start in that area of one's horoscope where the New Moon happens to occur. Due to the sign’s nature, favoured are those beginnings related to personal desires and pursuits as well as leadership skills and initiatives in general. In fact, with the New Moon taking place in the very first degree of Aries, the beginning of the zodiac, a brand new chapter opens for each one of us personally and for humanity as a whole, which will be seen in the coming years.
This chapter is directly or indirectly linked to the almost simultaneous entry of Pluto into Aquarius, a sign which Pluto visited for the last time in 1799 and in which it will remain until 2044. In general, Pluto's transit through Aquarius will allow for some type of spiritual renaissance or revolution that will render knowledge and information into supreme power. Here are some ideas about what Pluto in Aquarius may signify: a) radical change of our theories about the world, humans and our past, via sciences such as psychology, history, biology and archaeology, b) technological and scientific discoveries that transform our world, especially through genetics, c) liberalization or modernization of capital and the economic system through the further spread of the use of electronic or digital money, and d) democratization of power with the possible delegation of more responsibilities to municipalities and communities.
Presently, the New Moon gives perhaps a small foretaste of how the above may begin to slowly materialize in our lives, as the recent collapse of financial institutions in the US raises broader questions about the future and sustainability of the current economic system.
