2012 Predictions by zodiac sign: Part I

2012 has already entered and many of you may be wondering what this new year may have in store for you, all the more because there has been so much talk about 2012 being the year that will mark the end of the world! I promise to write more extensively about whether the astrological transits that will take place on December 21st 2012 will be as apocalyptic as some want us to believe. Just to give you a hint, I think that humanity has already gone through much tougher astrological transits, so I trust that the end of the year will find us alive and kicking! Nevertheless, 2012 does seem to be the harbinger of a new era that will be characterised by a marked change in our values; this is something that we have already started to see given the noticeable, albeit slow, shift from consumerism and profitability to love, solidarity and even spirituality.

Let’s save this talk, however, for one of my future posts. This one, as well as the next two, will focus on some of the insights that we can get from the stars regarding the ways in which 2012 could unfold in relation to our zodiac sign. Following the tradition of my blog related to starting from Pisces and moving clockwise in the zodiac, this post will cover Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Sagittarius; the next one will cover Scorpio, Libra, Virgo and Leo whereas the one after that will cover Cancer, Gemini, Taurus and Aries.

The main astrological indicators that I will focus on are the transits of Jupiter and Saturn, although I will take into account transits of the faster moving planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) as well as those of the slower moving planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). Jupiter will remain in the sign of Taurus until June 11th 2012 and will then move to Gemini where it will stay until June next year. On the other hand, Saturn won’t change signs until October 5th 2012 at which time it will leave Libra for good in order to enter Scorpio and stay there for 2.5 years. Concerning the slower moving planets, Pluto and Uranus will remain in Capricorn and Aries, respectively, whereas Neptune will change signs for good on February 3rd in order to return to its natural ‘habitat’, that is, Pisces.

If, as I suspect, you’re only interested to read about your personal zodiac sign (or the sign of your loves ones), please scroll down until you find it. Each paragraph is devoted to a different sign, Pisces coming first, Aquarius second, Capricorn third, and so on. If you’re not quite sure under which zodiac sign you were born, you will notice the start and end dates of each sign being depicted in brackets next to the name of the corresponding sign. Please also note the following two things: a) If you were born on the cusp between two adjacent zodiac signs (e.g., April 20th, which would be the end of Aries and the beginning of Taurus), you might find it useful to read both signs and b) you might find it equally useful to read the sign of your Ascendant as well. For example, someone who was born on May 21st and has Scorpio ascending (like me!) would get more out of reading the signs of Taurus, Gemini and Scorpio.

Pisces (February 19 – March 19)

With Mars transiting the sign opposite yours (i.e., Virgo) until July 3rd 2012, many of you may feel tired, edgy, argumentative or downright quarrelsome, because an important person in your life, be it a husband/wife, a romantic partner or a business associate, may behave in ways that will test your nerves. Such one-to-one relationships will thus come into focus and make you think whether you really want to preserve them or whether you want to burn those bridges once and for all. These considerations may be particularly salient during Venus’ transit through Gemini from April 3rd until August 7th, during which period your parents, especially the father, may become somehow involved in the disputes mentioned above, while it may also be that issues related to your housing situation will provide one more reason to fight with your partners or business associates. Nevertheless, valuing communication (Venus in Gemini) may actually help resolve any conflicts that arise or have already arisen (Mars in your natural seventh house).

On the other hand, with Jupiter transiting your third natural house until June 11th you will probably feel prompted to expand your mind and learn something new that can be practically applied, such as learning how to drive or how to use computers; buying a car or a new phone/computer is equally possible until June 11th. From then on Jupiter will enter your fourth natural house, which may bring a time where you consider moving houses or perhaps expanding or redecorating the house where you currently live. Receiving benefits from your parents or extending benefits to them is a further possibility for the last six months of the year. Care is needed for those born between February 19th and March 5th, because with Jupiter squaring your Sun for the last six months of the year you may feel overly optimistic about your capacities and thus take on more responsibilities than you can handle; being overindulgent and wasting money are further possibilities you need to watch out for.

Finally, with Mercury transiting your sign those of you who were born during that same period (Feb 19 – Mar 5) may receive an important piece of good news any time between the 14th and the 23rd of February, while those of you who were born between the 6th and the 20th of March you may receive an equally important piece of good news any time between the 4th and the 16th of April.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

This year will probably be a fairly good year for you, although those of you who were born between the 20th and the 30th of January will start to feel particularly pressurized because of Saturn squaring your Sun from October 5th onwards. Let’s start from the beginning though. The first six months of 2012 will be marked by Jupiter’s transit through your fourth natural house. This may bring a time where you consider moving houses or perhaps expanding or redecorating the house where you currently live. Buying or selling a house is equally possible, while receiving benefits from your parents or extending benefits to them is a further possibility until June 11th. Care is needed though because Jupiter will be squaring your Sun until then, which may make you feel overly optimistic about your capacities and thus you may feel urged to take on more responsibilities than you can handle.

From June 11th onwards Jupiter will be in your fifth natural house, which may bring a new love affair or the desire to have a baby! This could also be a time where you decide to start a new hobby, sport or other creative pursuit. It might even be a time where you explore your artistic talents; so, if you are already artistically inclined, this could well be a very fruitful and beneficial time. Those of you who were born between January 20th and February 4th will have Jupiter in trine with your Sun from June onwards, which may bring luck in many of your endeavours, as well as the desire to expand your horizons, to travel and meet people who could benefit your personal development in the long run. Nevertheless, with Saturn entering your tenth house from October 5th onwards you may encounter difficulties in your career. At the very least this transit will probably mark a time where you will need to work hard in order to achieve your career goals. This will be particularly relevant for those of you who were born between the 20th and the 30th of January.

With Mercury in harsh aspect, those of you who were born between January 20th and February 4th may feel mentally exhausted in July and August, while the same may be true from October 17th until December 11th for those of you who were born after February 4th. Nevertheless, with Mercury transiting your sign most of you will probably receive some important piece of good news any time between January 28th and February 14th.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

With Pluto transiting your sign and with Saturn and Uranus transiting two signs that are in natural conflict with yours, this year is definitely made for you, given that you are the one sign that was born to sustain difficulties and challenges! More specifically, with Uranus squaring your Sun those of you who were born between December 22nd and January 1st will probably have to deal with situations that upset you or with people who behave in unexpected and perhaps irritating ways. For instance, you may have to move houses suddenly or experience important disruptions in your home and family life; perhaps your parents, especially the father, will be acting in a strange manner that may create some temporary distance between you and them (Uranus transiting your fourth natural house).

With Pluto in conjunction with your Sun those of you who were born between the 28th and the 31st of December may have to undergo some major transformations. These are primarily psychological; you may thus start to get rid of old patterns and behaviours that don’t serve anything so as to cleanse your soul and regenerate. Often, this internal process of letting go of the old comes through pain (perhaps emotional if not physical), as well as through external events that may seem unavoidable. Remember though that whatever happens this year is ultimately for the best and that sometimes the best way to deal with change is to go along with it rather than resisting it.

With Saturn, your ruler, squaring your Sun until October 5th 2012 those of you who were born between the 12th and the 19th of January may feel particularly pressurized and pessimistic while your vitality may be lower than usual. For instance, you may encounter difficulties, obstacles and restrictions in your career (Saturn transiting your tenth natural house). At the very least this transit will probably mark a time where you will need to work harder than usual in order to achieve your career goals.

On a positive note for all of our Capricornian friends, Jupiter transiting your fifth natural house until June 11th may bring a new love affair or a baby, while Jupiter in trine with your Sun until then may provide you with luck in many of your endeavours; this luck will hopefully mitigate the restricting or upsetting influences mentioned above. Finally, Jupiter transiting your sixth natural house from June 11th onwards may bring a new job or professional benefits, while starting a diet and adopting a healthier lifestyle are further possibilities.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

With Mars transiting a sign that is in natural conflict with yours (i.e., Virgo) until July 3rd 2012, many of you may feel tired, edgy, argumentative or downright quarrelsome. The main reasons will probably be related to your career or the relationship with your parents, your mother in particular (Mars transiting your tenth natural house).  Perhaps your boss, your parents or other authority figures in your life will behave in irritating ways, most probably because they will require of you discipline, meticulousness and diligence; qualities which you don’t generally have natural affinity with! Thus, relationships with your employers or parents will come into focus and make you think whether you really want to preserve them or whether you want to burn those bridges!

These considerations may be particularly salient during Venus’ transit through Gemini from April 3rd until August 7th, during which period a husband/wife, a romantic partner or a business associate may become somehow involved in the disputes mentioned above; it may also be that issues related to an important relationship in your life will provide one more reason to fight with your boss or parents. Nevertheless, valuing communication (Venus in Gemini) may actually help resolve any conflicts that arise or have already arisen (Mars in your natural tenth house).

On the other hand, with Jupiter, your ruler, transiting your sixth natural house until June 11th you may find a new job or you may receive professional benefits; so, it may very well be that the professional disputes indicated by Mars transiting your tenth natural house will urge you to leave your job and look for a new one. Starting a diet or a gym subscription and adopting a healthier lifestyle are further possibilities, while achieving a greater bodymind connection is also favoured.

From June 11th onwards Jupiter will be in your seventh natural house, which means that you may encounter luck in your romantic relationships and business partnerships. For instance, a new relationship may start, an existing one may improve or you may even find yourselves liberated from a relationship that no longer works. Getting married or divorced is a further possibility. For those of you who were born between November 22nd and December 6th Jupiter will be opposing your Sun from June 11th onwards, which can bring many opportunities for growth as long as you make sure that you don’t become overoptimistic or overindulgent.
