there is a New Moon taking place in the communicative, agile and versatile sign
of Gemini. Similarly to every New Moon, this one too calls for us to make a new
beginning in that area of one’s horoscope where it happens to fall. Due to the
sign, the present New Moon favors beginnings related to communication, learning
and travel/transport. However, the fact that it takes place at a critical
degree ruled by Venus reveals the uncertainty and insecurity that these
activities may cause in relationships, collaborations and financial decisions.
More specifically, insofar as the Ego is
inflated due to Venus being at the Sun’s pure exaltation, relationships,
collaborations and alliances are at the risk of ‘dying’ (Venus square Pluto).
This is reinforced by the Sun, the Moon, Venus and Pluto simultaneously
activating the Mercury/Chiron midpoint, which reminds us that ‘the pen is
mightier than the sword’. The Mars-Saturn opposition across the
Gemini-Sagittarius axis, the axis of communication, further attests to the
above. And with Mars out of bounds, caution is needed because anger and tension
can be expressed in unusual or even extreme ways…
There is though a way out by means of a new
negotiation or agreement that helps purge existing relationships and
collaborations from everything that is rotten so that they pass onto a higher
level that allows for more joy and excitement (Venus at the Sun’s pure
exaltation and atop a formation composed of the New Moon and Pluto).
Furthermore, potential interruptions in activities can either open up wholly
new horizons or reinvigorate these activities in ways that may have seemed
impossible in the past (Uranus atop an ambivalence trine with Mars-Saturn). In
fact, Mercury, the New Moon’s dispositor, is in Taurus and helps with the
realistic assessment of things, but it also allows for the expression of faith
(sextile Neptune) no matter how impossible it may seem right now that faith can
be reconciled with optimism (Jupiter-Neptune quincunx). In any case, we hope
you enjoy the New Moon!
