New Moon in Capricorn: How high will you aim for?

On December 23, 2022, at 10:16 am, GMT, there is a New Moon taking place in the entrepreneurial, ambitious and realistic sign of Capricorn. It is the first New moon following the winter solstice and the re-entry of Jupiter into Aries, thus setting the tone for the next two weeks and laying the foundations for the developments that will concern many this winter. Like every New Moon, this one too invites us to make a fresh start in that area of one's horoscope where it happens to fall. The need for a fresh start, in fact, is all the more accentuated by Jupiter’s return to Aries and the presence of seven planets in cardinal signs! Clearly, the New Moon’s sign favors professional and business initiatives as well as initiatives that aim high or have a long-term perspective.

More specifically, the square aspect between Jupiter and the Lights reveals that in the upcoming weeks, and perhaps months, many will be concerned with taking professional or other risks that seem daring and that under normal circumstances one might not take (three out-of-bounds planets). The main goal seems to be the voluntary achievement of more freedom despite any secondary obstacles and irritations that unforeseen situations or circumstances may cause during the risk-taking mentioned above (Uranus atop an irritation trine with Lights and Jupiter).

Additionally, with Chiron going back to direct motion, while forming a sextile aspect with retrograde Mars in Gemini, this New Moon seems to bring back to the fore some opportunity which has been pending since last summer and which allows for more freedom of action or for a parallel professional or other activity. This opportunity is important for the possibility of opening up new professional horizons (Saturn, dispositor of the Lights, in a critical degree ruled by Jupiter) even if it is not clear yet in what way this opportunity will serve one’s professional ideals or dreams (Saturn in semi-sextile aspects with Mercury-Neptune). So then, how high a goal will you set under this New Moon?
