Full Moon in Pisces: The Culmination of the Potential for Violence…

Today, September 19th 2013, there is a Full Moon taking place in the sign of Pisces at 11:12 am, GMT. This means that the Moon is in the sign above while the Sun shines directly opposite at the 26th degree of Virgo. Just like with any full moon, this one too is associated with emotional outbursts and family-related events as well as with processes that started at the previous New Moon. In this blog I wrote back then that despite the difficulties the Sep 5th New Moon could mark the beginning of something that could become a real ‘diamond’ provided that we would motivate our originality and uniqueness. So, this full moon is here to help us assess what stage the, probably raw, ‘diamond’ is at and what still needs to be perfected.

Given that the axis of the full moon falls across the Virgo-Pisces axis, the so-called axis of devotion and service, the emotional outbursts and family events may revolve around these themes. Therefore, although this zodiacal axis will push us to work and provide services to others, tension will arise from the fact that it will not be easy to strike a balance between the importance that we attach to order, duty and realism (Sun in Virgo) and our inner need for relaxation, compassion and imagination (Moon in Pisces). Indeed, the unaspected full moon axis reveals that this balance will be even harder to strike.

This is further supported by the fact that the dispositors of the Sun and Moon, namely Mercury and Jupiter respectively, are in harsh aspect with each other. So, do not be surprised if your meticulous interest in bringing about equality, fairness and formality (Mercury in Libra disposing of Sun in Virgo) is faced (square) with emotional exaggeration on the part of someone else who needs to be loose and vague (Jupiter in Cancer being the traditional dispositor of Moon in Pisces). Nevertheless, it may also be you the one who over-reacts and fights with someone else who is interested in establishing fair and neatly defined rules. In either case, considerable caution is needed because the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto t-square turns into a grand cross with the involvement of Mercury. This is likely to be expressed with reckless moves and words (Jupiter-Mercury) that bring sudden and radical change, even death perpetrated for ideological reasons (Uranus-Pluto). This is exactly what happened yesterday with the murder of Pavlos Fyssas by a member of the Golden Dawn party (i.e. the Hellenic Neo-nazi party)...

Unfortunately, the Jupiter-Pluto opposition carries the potential for excessive (Jupiter) violence (Pluto) facilitated by the cancellation (Saturn) and marginalization (Chiron) of other people’s values (Venus in Scorpio). This is what the participation of this opposition in a kite pattern reminds us of (Jupiter is part of a grand trine with Chiron-Venus-Saturn while Pluto forms sextiles with these same planets). Note that values (Venus) can be both intellectual and material; therefore, not only ideological issues but also financial issues may give rise to violence and emotional manipulation. Personally, I hope that this full moon helps us manifest the higher dimensions of these aspects so that we can radically (Pluto) and definitively (Saturn) release (Jupiter) ourselves from emotional wounds (Chiron) and values (Venus) that no longer serve any purpose in our lives…
